Site Image Extractor

Last updated: May 11, 2026

Overview

Site Image Extractor is a Chrome extension that helps users scan a website they choose, review image assets found on that website, and download selected images as a ZIP file.

This policy explains what data the extension handles, why it is needed, and how it is used.

Data the Extension Handles

The extension may handle website content from pages the user chooses to scan. This can include image URLs, image files, page links, page URLs, file names, image dimensions, image types, and other visual assets found on the selected website.

The extension does not intentionally collect personally identifiable information, health information, financial information, authentication information, personal communications, precise location, full browsing history, or unrelated user activity.

How Data Is Used

The extension uses website content only to provide its core features:

  • Scanning a website selected by the user.
  • Finding image assets and related URLs on scanned pages.
  • Displaying scan results in the extension interface.
  • Allowing the user to preview, select, and filter images.
  • Creating a ZIP file from selected images for download.
  • Temporarily saving the latest scan state so the user can continue reviewing results.

Local Processing and Storage

Scan results and extension state are stored locally in the user's browser using Chrome extension storage. This helps preserve the most recent scan result and selected images while the user is using the extension.

The extension does not operate a remote server for collecting scan results, and it does not sell user data.

Downloads

When the user clicks the download button, the extension fetches the selected image files and packages them into a ZIP file. The ZIP file is saved to the user's device through Chrome's download system.

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

  • Downloads: required to save selected images as a ZIP file.
  • Storage: required to temporarily save scan results and extension state.
  • Tabs: required to read the current tab URL when the user chooses to scan the current tab and to manage temporary scan tabs.
  • Scripting: required to inject the extension interface and scan logic into pages selected by the user.
  • Host permissions: required so the user can scan websites they choose.

Data Sharing

Site Image Extractor does not sell user data. It does not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes.

Limited Use Statement

The use of information received from Chrome extension APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

User Control

Users control which website is scanned, which images are selected, and whether selected images are downloaded. Users can clear extension data through Chrome's extension settings or browser storage controls.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated if the extension's features, permissions, or data handling practices change. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version.
